Why should you PvP?
What better way to show off yours skills against other players.
Wandering through the lands, searching for a worthy opponent. Test your skills and reaction time and see who comes out on top.
PvP especially duels can be a great way of learning in a nice way how to deal with each class in Tera. It also can help you learn how to play your character using abilities that sometimes sit in your spell book unused.
Duel
A duel is a one on one fight between you and another player. You can duel on all the servers.
You will fight until the one of you has dropped to 1 HP, and then the duel will end and whoever got the other one to 1 HP first will win. You won’t be killed if you lose a duel, however, if you are fighting near monsters they could finish you off as soon as the duel is over.

deathmatch
Deathmatches are team battles that can be held anywhere. They do not have the area or zone restrictions that PKs have. Select Deathmatch from the Social menu and organize a custom Team vs Team battle, inviting your friends and/or your enemies. You can even put your money where your mouth is and bet gold and items while battling. The fun part of it is that you could be a max level character wanting to take on 5 other lower level characters, and you can do a 1v5 battle with wagers.
Guild vs Guild:
This is the final and biggest form of PvP in Tera. This pype of PvP is only available on PvP servers.
They can only be started by Guild Leaders and can set up different rules for each battle. The war will last 24 hrs or until the winning group/guild gets 2000 points. Killing an enemy player will result in 1 point. Killing an enemy leader/guild leader will result in 20 points.
Safe places during the war are towns, villages, camps, and instance entrances/and inside. To start a war you will need to use a item called “Bahar’s War Declaration” (costs 3 million gold at the shop (not yet official), and if your guild gets scared and wants to surrender you will need to buy an item called “Kaia’s Intervention” (costs 300k gold at the shop). You can declare war up to as many as 3 groups/guilds at once, and there is a 24 hr cooldown to declare war on the same guild again.

Battlegrounds
Will be comprised of 5v5, 10v10, and 15v15 instanced fights. Currently under a total revamp, previously standard death match and control point maps.Rewards points for gear and consumables. Guild buffs were also hinted at. We shall see what happens, if it's like other games with battlegrounds there will be 2 teams working towards capping something, defending something or smashing up something before the enemy team.
